BLS Course Options


The online component of BLS blended learning, this course uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.

After completing the online course, students will be scheduled to practice and test their skills with one of our instructors and upon successful completion of the skills test students receive a course completion card.

The BLS Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics.

Heartsaver® Courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements. These courses are also designed to meet OSHA requirements. Participants receive a course completion card that is valid for two years.

Heartsaver® First Aid
Here’s a course designed to meet OSHA regulations and teach basic first aid skills such as stopping bleeding that can be seen.

Heartsaver® CPR AED
Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED
This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements and teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills such as giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult.

Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED
This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children, and is ideal for child care workers who need to meet regulatory training requirements.  This course is APPROVED for daycare center staff by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood.

Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens
This course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials.

Family & Friends® CPR
This course provides basic CPR training in a dynamic group environment using the research-proven Practice-While-Watching method.

Hands-Only CPR
Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. It is recommended for use by people who see a teen or adult suddenly collapse in an “out-of-hospital” setting (such as at home, at work or in a park). It consists of two easy steps:

  • Call 9-1-1 (or send someone to do that).
  • Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

The American Heart Association requires you to have a current copy of the student manual for these courses. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one.

Student manuals may be picked up by appointment. Books that are not picked up in advance will be delivered in class.
